Flexible holidays

by Gwyneth on December 18, 2009

I saw in The Times yesterday that there is still concern about the British economy facing a double dip recession. If this is the case then firms may have to work more flexibly with their employees in the very best interests of the business.

So, if you have employees you can ask them to take their annual holiday at times which are quiet for your business. But you have to satisfy Regulation 15 of the Working Time regulations and give adequate notice to your employees.

The notice is twice as many days notice as the length of holiday to be taken. So for example a holiday of 10 working days requires 20 working days notice to be given.
